1. Assess Industry Standards:

- Assess current performance: Compare the organization’s current performance with industry standards to identify gaps.

2. Set Clear Goals:

- Establish performance goals: Set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals to improve performance against industry standards.

- Align goals with strategy: Ensure that progress goals are aligned with the organization’s vision and mission.

3. Develop an action plan:

- Identify areas for development: Determine key areas requiring improvement to achieve progress goals.

- Create specific initiatives: Develop projects and initiatives to improve performance in identified areas (e.g. quality improvement, cost reduction, innovation).

4. Allocate necessary resources:

- Define resources: Assign the budgets, people and tools needed to implement the initiatives.

- Train teams: Provide the necessary training and support to employees so that they can contribute effectively to the initiatives.

5. Implement initiatives:

- Launch projects: Deploy initiatives and projects according to the action plan.

- Monitor execution: Regularly monitor the implementation of initiatives to ensure that they are executed in accordance with objectives.

6. Monitor and measure progress:

- Establish performance indicators: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress against objectives and industry standards.
